Experiences of the Social Workers Participated Client-Focused Crisis Support Service : Focusing on the World Vision Support Services for Children with Crisis

Abstract
The purpose of the study was to explore the nature and contents of the client-foused crisis support service derived from the experiences of social workers participated in the World Vision support services for children with crisis. To answer the research questions posed by the study, qualitative contents of focus-group interviews from the total of twenty one workers participated in the World Vision support services were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, eight categories were contextualized based on nineteen semantic units, and three final themes were derived. The first theme, ¡®helpfulness of client-focued support services¡¯ is divided into inclusiveness of support services, practice values emphasizing the interest of children and fields, and responsiveness of managerial and administrative supports in crisis situations. The second themes, ¡®multi-level outcomes and implications of services¡¯ were characterized into client-level, worker¡¯s level, and community-level respectively. The last theme, ¡®proposals for better practices¡¯ was organized into maintaining inclusive supports and expanding not only resilient but also responsive operational supports. Based on the results of the study, details of social work implications for client-focued crisis support service were discussed.
